Frequently Asked Questions

What happens if the weather is bad?

If it's just light drizzle we go ahead, but if the weather is very bad (eg heavy rain) we will not shoot.

What should I wear?

Close fitting top - no loose sleeves or baggy jumpers (since they could get caught in the bow string). Comfortable shoes. Bear in mind that it is an outdoor venue.

Is there an age limit?

Minimum age is 7 years but there is no maximum age limit.

Is is suitable for women and girls?

Yes. We have many female members, both juniors and seniors.

Are any refreshments available?

No, but you're welcome to bring your own.

Will I need to bring any equipment?

No, it is all provided by the Club. If you wish to use your own bow then please check with the Coach.

What sort of bow will I be using?

"Recurve" bows are used for training purposes although some members later switch to longbows or compound bows.

How big are the training groups?

This will depend on how many turn up on the day. Where possible, we aim for one trainer for each beginner.

What about beginners with disabilities?

Please contact the Club Secretary to discuss.
